Memorial Day 2025 Virtual Deployment: Bourbon & Cigar Tasting Benefiting Chaplain Corps Cigar Therapy

In remembrance of our American Heroes, Deployment Cigars is holding a Virtual Deployment Fundraiser on Thursday, 22 May:

Memorial Week Bourbon and Cigar Tasting - Guest Speaker: Matthew Brunnemann

Join us for an unforgettable evening of bourbon and cigars, featuring Matthew Brunnemann, author of War Business: The Hired Guns of Helmand Province. Each tasting kit purchase includes a copy of his book.

About Matthew Brunnemann
Matthew Brunnemann is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served as an Intelligence Specialist during the Global War on Terror. From 2010 to 2012, Sergeant Brunnemann spent over 500 days in Afghanistan’s Helmand Province. After retiring from service in 2013, he penned War Business, a raw and powerful memoir that captures the bravery, sacrifice, and brotherhood of the Marines. Far from a glorified tale, the book offers an unfiltered look at the realities of war, reflecting on the profound privilege of witnessing America’s warriors in action—a debt he feels he can never repay.

A devout Catholic and proud Knight of Columbus, Matthew draws strength from his faith and family. As a dedicated husband and father, he lives by values of service and community, continuing his commitment through charity, unity, and fraternity as a Knight. Private by nature, he shares his story not for recognition but to honor the legacy of those who served alongside him.

In his own words:
“A man needs nothing more than a relationship with God, the love of a good woman, the gift of fatherhood, routine exercise, and a mission. Everything else is extra—except cigars, which are not optional.”

SiriusXM’s David Webb and Deployment Cigar’s own Chuck, with a special guest Matthew Brunnemann will help to host our 13th Virtual Deployment: a Bourbon & Cigar Tasting Experience fundraiser on Thursday, 22 May from 1900-2100 EDT (a/k/a 7pm-9pm Eastern) via Zoom Conference call.

This event will enable us to support military chaplains who use cigar therapy as part of their ministries.
